Remembering Rick Mills
Last Friday I attended a memorial service in Sarnia to honor and remember the life of Rick Mills. Rick passed from this life and entered the next after a long physical battle.
Most of you probably don't know Rick and his wife, Kathy. They both were a vital part of the congregation of Life of Faith Fellowship in Port Huron, Michigan.
I will remember Rick as a loving, caring, giving, and faithful man of God. When we building offices and classrooms in the former Skateport building, Rick and Ernie Ferrara would drive over the Bluewater Bridge from Canada after a long day on their jobs and work on the church building project. Often, Rick and Ernie would be the last ones to leave late in the evening.
In all my years of ministry I have known few people who were willing to give of themselves the way that Rick did. Knowing that God remembers our labors for him, I know that there is a great reward for the sacrificial offering that Rick made to God's people and to advance the work of His kingdom.
My prayers go out to Kathy and the family and friends of Rick Mills. Although he has left us for a time, the memory of his life will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
